ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

glazing putty for corner cupboard glass

I inherited a 200 year old corner cupboard recently and the glazing compound holding the antique glass (about 16 small panes) in the door is cracked and loose and needs to be replaced. It looks sort of translucent and tan colored. I don't want to compromise the value of the cupboard by doing something stupid but the glass needs to be secured. What should I use? The panes are held in only by the putty. Thanks for any advice.
