As I said in the first response the Howard's is what is the problem, as it is a hot chemical, and has softned the old finish. The product has alcohol and lacquer thinner in it, or the like. It had allowed the finish to soften long enough to move around and dry down in a less than flat apperance. More of the Howard's will do the same and repair the damage when used as was intended. The Furniture Doctor, a library will often have this book, will explain this function in a language that a novice can comprehend.
