I have an old oak ice box that my parents used prior to their home having electricity. After no longer needing it for its orginal purpose my Dad used it for many years to store livestock medications. It is in pretty bad shape. Some joints are loose, at some point it was painted and the paint has dried up to to where it is very rough. The water tank between the two top compartments was removed by cutting a hole in the top. I have all the hardware (hinges & latches)some doors have cracks in the panels. Is something in this condition worth restoring? What would be suggestions how to start and with the hole in the top would I need to replace the top oak boards?
