Hi, i love barrister bookcases and have been lucky to find some orphan stacks in need of tender loving care. Some are mahogany and some are oak and from reading previous posts i have been able to ascertain the types of grades they are. I am confused however with the labeling system. I have several D units in oak that fit together but one section also a D unit does not stack on the others, seems to be a different size. Does the D denote size , if it does , why wont they stack together, is it becouse they are of different woods?? They havnt been rebuilt, the renovation needed is to remove institutional green paint prolly added in the fifties. Is the 10.5, 12.5, 8, etc the height of the shelf? Thx any help would be appreciated....bob
