One quick wipe, across the bad spot, with a cloth wetted with denatured alcohol will lessen the white water marks in the finish. Wait 15 minutes and repeat, but do quickly and don't mess with the softened finish after the alcohol wipe. Allow it to dry slowely and see what has transpired prior to another wipe.
