I have a platform rocker with a spring mechanism that consists of a flat piece of metal that runs the width of the chair at the fulcrum point. It's bolted in two places to the platform and on either side to the rocker. The only springs I've been able to locate (Van Dykes & Rockler) are coil springs that come in pairs.
Do you know where I can find the original spring type? If I replace the original with the coil springs, will it affect the value of the piece?
