Tung Oil?

I was looking for varnish at my local hardware store, but I was unbable to find non-spar varnish soI picked up some Tung Oil by Minwax. It says it is finish/sealer, but is it considered a varnish or finishing protectivepolish? Any help would be great, thanks.
