Mr. Schooley thank you for your info. this has been in the famly since 1900.Took a good look again last night under magnafaication,the hindge is wood pegged on cabinet side,but you right on the door side is metal pins does this make sense ? what i thought was a solid hindge does come off,took a rubber mallet and a thick soft cloth and was able to knock it off,no damage was done. NOW i can have it repaired.Found the metal pin laying inside. looks like a cut off nail. once again thank you
