Hi Matt,

I hope you can help me to obtain a date of manufacture and approximate value (if any ) of a bookcase i have. It has a label that reads: Ardmore bookcase; for home and office; pattern # 48; mahogany; a globe-wernicke product; cincinnati, o; makers of over 4000 items needed in office, and it has their logo.....it is not a stackable type as seen on ebay and other websites. It is a one piece unit with 3 adjustable shelves. The shelves are adjusted with 3/8 inch metal studs that fit into a series of pre-drilled holes along the inside of the bookcase sides. The shelves have rounded notches that fit over these studs to hold them in place. The whole bookcase is constructed of 3/4 inch solid mahogany. The back is 3/8 mahogany. I am in the process of refinishing it,,,does that ruin any value it might have? It is rather plain, without any fancy or elaborate designs or carvings and it does not have any glass pieces with it. But it is finely made and well crafted. It is 47 inches tall and 36 inches wide. I would appreciate any info that you can find,

thank you,

Robert
