If the water marks are light as in white in color they are caused by moisture which is "locked" in the finish. You may be able to remove them from an oil finish by warming them with a hair dryer. If that doesn't work try some Bheln Blush Remover which is sold by many woodworking supply stores. Try a small area first wet a cotton swab and touch it to a mark and see if it will make the moisture release. You may have to reoil after this treatment. I am no aware of an furniture polish which will release moisture from a finish. Once you get the marks out a good coat of paste wax will help resist further marks.
