If you proceed very carefully with stripper you may be able to remove the paint without too much damage to the original finish. You will have to work in small areas and remove the paint as soon as it starts to soften and you may have to repeat application several time to get an area clean. Oce you have the paint down to a haze you can sand it lightly with 360 grit to remove it from the finish, this will remove some of the finish, but you can then overspray to rebuild and polish out when a sufficient thickness of finish is built up(about 3-4 dry mils of lacquer). Good luck
