cleaning stains and dirt off ceramic figurine

I have a Kitty Cucumber fighurine by Schmid that is almost all white it seems to have sirt or maybe smoke stain on it i tried using soap and water which usually works but isnt taking any of it off is there any thing i can buy to get this dirt off.
