Convert Crystal or Glass Wine Stem to Candlestick?

I have two beautiful Bayel wine glasses whose bowls were broken in shipping. The base and the stem are perfect.

I was wondering if there is anyone that can 're-invent' them as candlesticks? I am thinking all one has to do (assuming there are the tools and the remaining portion could withstand the stress) is cut off the jagged remainder of the bowls and attach crystal candle bases. I admit I have never heard of it being done, nor know where someone would get just the top of a candlestick with the cup that holds the base of the candle, but I am hopeful someone out there knows more about it than me.
