ANTIQUE CERAMIC RESTORATION and CONSERVATION DISCUSSION BOARD

hairline crack in a ceramic dish cover

hello, I recently noticed a hairline crack in a piece of "copeland late spode". The piece is a white ceramic body, and it is late nineteenth century. I did a course of study in porcelain and ceramics repair 20 years ago, and am sure that the materials we used then are now out of date.

Can anyone suggest a bonding agent that would work well in seeping into a hairline crack in a porous ceramic piece that is still in lite use (it is the lid of a serving dish, used for hot foods).

I would be so happy to be able to continue to use this piece. Thanks
