Tanya, If you are not going to be using the cup to drink from, and just using it for display, I would try a clear spray lacquer that you can get at any "do it yourself" store. Be careful of drips and sagging. A few light coats is much better then trying a heavy coat. This cup then should only be wiped down with a wet, soft cloth and never washed in a dishwasher. Hope this is what you are looking for.
