I have an old trunk that i bought at a yard sale for $5. It has all parts intact, and even has the tray inside, still covered with the original fabric. It is painted in an awful bright blue and i need to know how to remove this paint (I have no clue what type of paint this is). I have tried several commercial strippers, but to no avail. I also tried light sanding. My intention is to restore the piece to wood and tin as it was made. What can I use to get all the paint off of the wood, tin, and leather handles? Also, a hint as to odor removal: place two pieces of white bread in a bowl, pour white vinegar to the top of the bread, and place inside the item (such as an old trunk), leave 24-48 hours, and all odors will be gone (the yeast in white bread reacts with the acidity of the vinegar to remove all odors). Thanks.
