Fired ceramic sculpture repair

I have a fired, red clay (terracotta?) sculpture that is broken in several places. I can see that Milliput can be used to fill missing areas, but the instructions tell me to avoid using it where a thin film is required. I have several areas where the joint is going to be very thin. What is the proper adhesive to use in these areas? I need something with a lot of holding power as one of the breaks is an outstretched arm that will put a good amount of leverage on the glued joint. Thanks, Todd Bever
