Flood damaged dining roomset- what to do?

While building a new house,we had our complete 1949 Walnut dining room set stored in a warehouse that was flooded in Sept. The flood waters reached approx. 2 - 2.5 feet and damaged most of the veneer on the china cupboard & buffet. Table legs are coming un-bound, etc.. Is this worth trying to restore (we have no experience restoring) or should be cut our losses. We got it at an aution for a good price? Please advise.
