It's probable that the substrate is MDF or similar particle board, and that could have swelled under the teak veneer. Thats a real problem because it will not return to it's normal flatness when dry, and no amount of coaxing or clamping will return it to flatness either...injecting glue into it may even cause it to swell even more....the veneer is put on with a controlled coat of glue and pressed till dry as to limit the amount of swelling of the substrate...this makes the possibility of a satisfactory repair remote...if that in fact is what has happened.....
