I have recentley aquired a 1934 Cavalier Cedar Chest. A family member that thought it was junk was going to throw it away. I always thought what a beautiful piece and had asked for it. It does need some restoration work, (the veneer on both side has some mositure damage from being stored in a basement) but in the meantime what type of cleaner or polish should be used? I was using Old English for dark wood, but heard it was more or less a dye. Is lemon oil ok to use? Any help would be great.
