In Response To: paint marks on pine (Kerith)

It kind of depends on the underlying finish..if it's a fairly modern finish like lacquer, varnish, shellac etc...then you can safely use "Oops" or "Goof Off" to remove the paint...providing also that it's latex paint...if either of those is not the case then you risk damaging the finish and you'll need to touch up the area after removing the paint...it sounds like you're describing an edge of the piece and not a more sensitive area like the top...so you can take a rag, double it over and stretch it over your finger, wet it with either of the afore mentioned products and rub briskly over the paint...if it does'nt start to come off right away then you might be dealing with oil paint...but chances are it's latex and will come right off...then you can touch up the finish as needed with a touch up marker and apply some paste wax to the edge...if the damage is worse than that then post back and we'll help you out further
