In Response To: Re: Brown patina for old brass lamp (Jim Cole)

i am interested in a brownish ish blue ish black patina effect for a hanging brass chandalier in my dining room. what kind of ready made product can i purchase locally in my area to paint all the parts of the fixture with a small brush? what do i clean the fixture with before applying the chemical? will liver of sulphur work? do i need a mask? i live in richmond, va and need to purchase the product locally, as i want to embark upon this project this weekend. minored in jewelry design ages ago in college and used liver of sulphur on copper and it worked well. what about brass???

help!! and thanks in advance for your help.

linda
