ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

leather on a flip-top table

I have a french flip top game table, old but not antique. When open, the back legs slide out to support the opened top. Currently there is a piece of felt (flannel?) that bridges the gap when the table is open. This is damaged and I would like to replace it with leather, in one piece, again bridging the gap. The directions for replacing leather on this site are great; is there anything else I need to know to do this so that it can fold over when the table is closed?
