Many woodworking oils and varnishes are succeptible to spontaneous combustion...they are rapid oxidisers...we've recently had several house fires here in town from flooring refinishers waste..they were putting all their garbage in trashbags and sealing it up, and leaving it in the work area or by the residence...in most cases these rags should be spread out carefully, on a non combustible surface and allowed to dry hard before disposing of carefully..
