My 85 year old grandfather is giving me his Secretay desk, that he says originally belonged to his grandparents (he thinks). I know it belonged to his parents. So, here is my problem. It has several coats of paint on it (it was pink at one time, now white). It looks as if it has had some joint repair on the top (not done very well). I would like to take it back to bare wood and refinish it. However, I do not want to have the glue disolved and have the whole thing fall apart. What can I use that will not disolve the glue in the joints, but will remove the paint? Thanks for your time, Nina
