Hi, I have a 1880's oak bed that we converted to a queen size. Since the queen size is longer, the original oak side boards are too short. I have seen a similar bed modified with arched metal pieces. The headboard and the footboard pieces are attached and curved toward each other and make up the roughly 5" shortage in length of the sideboard. The side board ends then attached to the metal pieces. Does anyone have an idea of where I can get a set of these? Any other ideas on how to modify the sideboards? Thanks for your help!
