Hi Jo Ann, it is possible that the tambour is inside a false back...you can get at it by removing the back of the desk carefully. The tracks have prbably worn down to cause the tambour to derail on it's travel...or a glue block or something could have dislodged inside a gummed up the space...or there could be stacks of $100 bills hidden back there hitting the tambour..lol. The only way to know will be to expose the tracks and the tambour to investigate.
