Greg

I am not sure what the chair is made of. It is not oak or pine, could be poplar. I have been working on bleaching with oxalic acid this morning. Some of the stain has definately come out, but the piece remains very uneven and blotchy. Do you think I should size or seal then stain? Sounds like this should be the plan. If so, which agents have you found most suitable? Thanks for your response and James for your oxalic acid recommendation.

Simon.
