If it is old and a rolltop it is worth refinishing. You can't of course trust that the dealer is telling the truth about the age but you can certinly tell if it is fairly old. Too bad someone drilled the hole in the side instead of the back but you may be able to patch it. Stripping will be tough, especially the tambour. I've never stripped a roll top so maybe James or Greg can tell you best how to handle that part. The problem there is the tambour is usually half round strips glued to canvas and stripping may loosen the glue. Sorry but I don't pay much attention to furniture makers, although I suppose I should.
