No one evertaught me finishing. I've3 been at it 35 years and like most I don't know it all. A few weeks ago someone - James I think - suggested someone use vinegar to loosen a joint to get it apart to re-glue. I tried it and it works well. I know it works with hide glue however, but does it work on white or yellow glues? I am at a point where chair repair is becoming the meat and potatoes of my business. My thing is refinishing but down and dirty quickie chair repairs is becoming my bread and butter. Will vinegar work on modern glues also?
