Contrary to popular belief and a web page titled "trek chairs" the Burke 103 swivel chair was not the one used on Star Trek. Those chairs were supplied by a company called Contemporary shells. They made both the "bridge" chair and the captain model seen in some briefing room scenes. These were also used in the kitchen of the Brady Bunch. They were offered in both a round base and what the catalog aptly called the "star base" which is what's seen in the original Star Trek. The Burke 103 is a real close copy but not quite the same quality and the seat section is more rounded on the bottom than the Contemporary shells version. This is easy to spot if you look closely at a Burke chair from one of many pictures on E-Bay (I have 3 of them) and compare to the ones from the show. If anyone has any of these they'd like to sell I'd be very interested.
