Greg - yeah - im talking about the black laquered stuff - i also have some old walnut that needs this treatment - im not sure what im going to do, as these are antique items and sanding the old finish just wont do - i had a thought after i posted that message about using a hypodermic needle to "inject" the thinned gold paint into the grooves, then "touch it up" with a dry brush - that way the gold is already inside the groove and the fat paint loaded brush never really hits the surface - if anyone has any other creative thoughts on how to do this - let me know - ive put it off for 15 years without figuring out how, another few wont kill me ...
