ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

I have an old trunk that has been in the family for over 100 years. The leather is starting to crack and the solid brass fittings need a cleaning because this trunk has been in storage for many years until recently. Does anyone know what I can use on the leather without damaging it. Also, is there anything else I could use to clean the brass besides Brasso? I don't want to get anything on the leather that will damage it.
