Hi. I work at an historic house museum (built 1926-1929) that features many pieces made by the Hampton Shops, including bedroom furniture and dining room furniture. These pieces were handcrafted and were designed specifically for the owner of this home. The Hampton Shops were based in New York City. Not only did they make reproduction furniture, they also designed home furnishings such as textile designs (drapes, etc.) and they did the chinoiserie painting in a room in this home as well. The Hampton Shops also imported antiques from Europe as well as tapestries (for example, there is a pair of 18th needlework drapes that were cut down for this home, as well as seat cushions that were antique tapestries re-made into cushions). We have the original drawings from Hampton Shops sent to the owner of the home in the late 1920s. If you'd like more info or pictures, email me. Good luck, Kathy
