reversing white paint is always a chore...what type of stripper are you using? Sometimes applying another thin coat and scrubbing off with steel wool followed by a scrub brush and solvent afterwash as James suggests. What type of veneer is it? Is it open grain that the white is still in or just a general "pickling" look to the whole surface? I always wash with WilBond and #1 steel wool and hand dry after stripping paint..after thorough drying, a light sanding might just be all it needs, too....
