Howard - Restor A Finish

I have a piece that is pretty nice and presentable, but quite scratched on the surface. I think it is valuable and is 60 years old, so I don't want to destroy it. It is mahogany, and I was pushed by one person towards Briwax with dark tone to hide the scratches. I don't want to try to refinish myself, and don't want to damage, but when I went to another store they highly recommended this Howard Restor. Does anybody have any experience with this product and will it make the piece more beautiful without any risk to the current finish. Thanks for any input.
