I found a gentleman in Chicago who does beautiful restoration work. I have a similar problem with a broken mirror. He was going to recreate some broken plaster embellishments, replace the mirror with a custom beveled one, rebuild the frame, thoroughly prepare the surface and re-leaf the entire frame with a gold leaf type substance. Price $2,400. I'm sure it would be stunning, but I can't afford the repair. His name is Igor Shuster, www.antiquerestorationcenter.com, (312)321-9155
