The NGR stains will do exactly that which Greg has suggested. These stains were originaly designed for the lightening needs of the blond era. They control how much color and grain comes through the final coat and can be found easily, ready mixed, just try to spray on the first sealer coat. Lota os hdw. stores have spray cans of shellac, make shure the shellac is failry fresh, 3 years sinse mfg. is over the line.
