Hi all!
I'm trying to match the finish found on a Cushman furniture piece. The wood looks like maple although I think I read that they used some sort of birch. The finish is a rich brownish/yellowish.
I've tried some test pieces of maple with a gel stain on bare wood and gel stain on sealed wood (shellac). They both show more grain than is found on the Cushman piece. I can get the color close, but the effect isn't quite the same...
Are Cushman's glazed or is there something else going on there? How would I go about doing that?
Help, please! Dennis
