In Response To: Cleaning Antique cottage style furniture?? Help (elizabeth)

A mild soap and quickly dry as you go is best. Then some light scrubbing with Naptha and a soft cloth, wipe away all the loosened dirt with a paper towel, continue till the towel comes up clean. Next apply a light coat of Watco stain in the color of the original wood stain. Wipe all excess oil after soaking in for 20 minutes and soak the oily rags in water befor discarding. Allow to set for a couple days and then wax with a toulene free wax, buff to a satin shine.
