These can be flattened out with a bumper jack and a 2x4 to the rafters. Apply common alcohol, or add 10% water to some denatured alcohol, and brush on a liberal coat. Place this between a couple sheets of clean craft paper and then two heavy layers of plywood. Place the bumper jack on all this and then fit the 2x4 the rest of the way to a cieling joist, sheet rock won't do by it's self, in case you didn't already know that, and pump down the whole mess till there is a fair strain. Don't over do it, 250 lbs or so is fine. Keep every thing in a stright line and a piece of rope from a cross member to the 2x4 will be helpful if gravity should come into play. A pile of bricks will work as well, but this is alot more interesting and is really less work than lugging 250 pounds of cinder blocks down stairs.
