ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

veneer

I have a number of small sheets of quarter sawn oak veneer which I use for repairs, or in some cases add decoration. The veneer seems to have high bumps on one side, and at the same location a cupped area on athe other. I am wondering if this is normal or if during installation it is somehow quelled.

I fear in I sand this down it might result in holes.
