In Response To: Re: restoring metal beds (Kristin)

I purchased a beautiful metal bed with a high headboard w/spindals and a low foodboard w/spindals. i also got the metal rails and the original springs to place the mattress on. The bed had been left out in the weather for about 2 years, so it has lots of rust on it. Is there a good solution i can buy to get the rust off the bed without damage to the bed. i would also like to use the original 'springs', could i use the same cleaner for that part of the bed as well. lastly, when i get the bed clean, can i just clear coat it for that'original' look, or do i prime it with something and have to paint it?

Thank you for any advise you can offer. Maryann Johnson Huntsville, Texas 77340
