A little clarification, please, I heed to know how peg is held in place, is there rope that goes from peg to peg and holds every thing in place? Most of these beds I have seen have a rectangular hole that the common mortice and tennon employ with a holding pin through everything. If you have a semilar system, you may need to make a whole new rail for each side, and since the width will no longer work, a new socket system could be fixed to the corner posts, one on each side. If any of this sounds familar in your case then we may be able to figure it out with out too much confusion, James.
