In Response To: denatured alcohol (Shari)

Use mineral spirits or naptha with rags to clean the sewing maching. DA could move dthe coating and create a big mess for you. After, use straight paste wax, non silicone like BriWax, Minwax paste furniture wax, Trewax, Beaute, or Johnsons Floor wax--dark wax if you can find it. No need to 'feed' the wood isn't hungry or thirsty. When done with the rags, lay them out on concrete to dry before you dispose of them.
