Deco end tables - rosewood or redwood burl???

Hi, I am selling two really cool French Deco night stands or end tables - the gentleman from whom I bought them (he was from France, and bought them there) said that they were rosewood. I identified them on my site as such, but I didn't think so, so I kept looking. Well, they look to me like a wood called Redwood Burl! Could you tell me if they used this wood in the early 1900s in France, and what it is? Is the burl like burl walnut? I have them on my website, but I don't want to break any rules by posting my site, so if you could give me so information, it would be great! Thank you, Nancy
