In Response To: french polishing quotation help (Mark)

I think what you need to do is to find the relation of regular refinishing to french polishing. The best way to do this is to take somthing you know well, like a 3 square foot table top, do this as a french polish and figure the time ratio differential as it compares to the regular refinishing rate you use. The next time you have a french polish job see if the ratio has worked, add ten percent to the quote if needed, that's only fair for a missed quote. Add the materials and then keep writing all the results down and checking the profit or loss till you have adjusted to a good ratio, this will allow you to extrapelate from a basic refinishing price to the frence polish price with one multiplier.
