Duncan Phyfe style dining table

Recently given a Duncan Phyfe style dining table, drop leaf, double pedastals [two legs each]. An extension table but no leaves. Top & drop leaves are veneer. Has plain "brass" feet with metal casters. Underneath is stamped MAH.LEX.CHAIR CO. #5781 1/56. Does this piece have enough value to warrant refinishing & repair [which it badly needs]? If so, would you advise using antiquing oil finish? Any info you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
