ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

Antiquit

I am in the process of packing up my household to put in storage in coastal Florida for about a Year. I am concerned about how to pack my antiques. I assume that whatever I do I need to store in a climate controlled environment. Is that correct?

I have a desk, two bentwood/caned chairs, a bentwood/caned rocker, a child’s painted chair and very large headboard and bed.

Do I need to polish with anything special to prepare for storage. Do I pack with blankets or bubble wrap or what.

I inherited these pieces and know very little about antiques. I believe they are at least 100 + years old so I assume that makes them antiques.

Any advice would be appreciated.
