french polish edicate

I've done a french polish on an 18th cent. 3 pedestal dining tbl. After alot of sweat I've finally achieved a really good look and the customer has approved. The problem is that she saw one of the ends. They both look fine but for some reason I'm having trouble chasing the "whips" and tracks out of the center section even though it has been the same procedure.I'm so frustrated that I've considered wet sanding and whippin' out the ol' buffer.I know this is improper but I'm looosin' it!I really love this technique but have obviously not perfected it.I've never done it on this scale and it's very unforgiving.I don't even know if you can buff it out but I'm getting desparate.Any advice or resourses are more than welcomed.
